As the legendary punk rock label Epitaph Records continues to expand its musical palette, the label has announced a May 8th release date for Human The Death Dance, the third album from rapper, poet and activist Sage Francis. The artist just completed a music video for the song “Got Up This Morning” in Los Angeles, filmed by director Stoney Sharp and including guest shots from Buck 64 and Jolie Holland and cameos from Slug of Atmosphere, Brother Ali and DiVinCi from Sol.iLLaquists of Sound.

“It’s probably one of the most powerful projects I’ve put together to date,” Francis says of Human The Death Dance. “It’s like my breakup album. There’s some real heavy and personal material on it.” Francis will kick off a seven-week U.S. tour in support of the album with a pair of shows at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, May 25th and 26th.
